How to install your frameless cork board - Video and step by step instructions below
step by step instructions
Position your board on the wall
First - separate the 4 caps from the bases of the hardware - you’ll see a clear washer - just keep this on the cap - Now position your board on the wall where you want to install it and make a mark thru the top right hole of the board onto the wall with a pencil in a circular motion - creating a circle on your wall...you may need some help with this step on the 36” x 24” size.
drill into the wall and screw in wall anchor
Remove your board from the wall and drill a hole into the center of that mark with the 1/4” drill bit - now screw the wall anchor into that hole using the phillips screwdriver - if you hit a wood stud you can skip this step - helpful tip: using a larger tipped phillips head screwdriver for screwing in the wall anchor makes it easier - and a smaller tip for the next step -
screw in wall anchor
Now screw the wall anchor into that hole using the phillips screwdriver - if you hit a wood stud you can skip this step - helpful tip: using a larger tipped phillips head screwdriver for screwing in the wall anchor makes it easier - and a smaller tip for the next step -
screw in base piece
Once the wall anchor is flush with your wall - insert the one of the screws into the larger hole of the base piece and screw the base piece into the wall anchor with the screwdriver
screw in cap
Now position your board on the base of the hardware and screw in the cap thru the board into the base - do not overtighten - note there is a recessed space in the back of the board for the base piece to fit into
level your board
Now that one corner is attached - swivel the left side of the board up near level and set the level near the top middle of the board - once the level reads ‘level’ - meaning the bubble is centered - mark the 3 other holes with your pencil onto your wall - now remove the board from the wall by unscrewing the cap from the top right hole
complete the hardware installation
Now repeat Step 1 and drill the remaining 3 holes into your wall on the center of the 3 pencil marks you just made - then screw in the 3 wall anchors into the holes - and attach the 3 hardware bases with screws into the wall anchors - remember the larger hole of the base hardware is facing out
hang your board!
Now that you have all 4 bases installed - position the board onto the bases and screw in all 4 caps into the bases - do not overtighten until you have all 4 caps installed - this is super helpful if the bases are not perfectly centered in the holes in the board - once you have all 4 caps installed you can hand tighten
start pinning!
That’s it - now comes the fun part - time to get some stuff up your board!
